🌱 Building a new economy isn't solely about introducing new products."__ Lucas De Man, CEO of Biobased Creations and moderator at the inaugural think tank session of POM Limburg. 💡 To speed up in this transition, POM Limburg convened stakeholders from the biobased sector for a roundtable discussion followed by a workshop. Participants, including B4Plastics | Stefaan De Wildeman, pinpointed opportunities and set forth concrete actions. The significant CO2 footprint associated with plastics and materials presents a critical challenge for both producers and consumers. Shifting towards biobased materials sourced from plant biomass that absorbs CO2 instead of emitting it offers a potential solution. "We're not merely contemplating; we're now implementing a collective action plan to materialize ideas concerning industry and knowledge hubs for biobased chemistry, construction, and energy," states Joost Van Aelst, Strategic Sustainability Expert at POM Limburg.
