Celebrating over 20 years of connecting our community to nonprofits through the power of live music.

About us

Band Together is an amazing story full of hope, optimism and a dose of rebellion. Band Together was imagined by Triangle community leaders as a response to the tragedies of September 11, 2001. The vision has evolved from raising funds to support international tragedies to raising funds and awareness with a special nonprofit partner every year. Thanks to the tireless efforts of thousands of volunteers, generous corporate and individual sponsors, dedicated board members, musicians and the generosity of our community, Band Together has risen to be a powerful partner to nonprofits in the Triangle Area. Band Together has donated over $9 million to benefit the Triangle community since 2001, strengthened corporate and non-profit relationships, supported musicians and had a lot of fun along the way. We are the Mullet. Business (and social good) in the front, party in the back.

I've had the privilege of being a community board member with Band Together NC for a few years now. The way Thorne Daubenspeck and the crew bring people together to raise money that benefits nonprofits in the Triangle, and therefore communities in the Triangle, is truly special. This year was no different. We raised money and awareness for mental health, which is timely considering that today is World Mental Health Day. I won't give you empty platitudes about checking in on your strong friend. Instead, I ask that you check in with yourself. - How are you doing? - Is there something you'd like to ask for help with? - Is there someone who may need your help but is unable to ask? And show up in the best way you can. I'm rooting for you.

  • WE DID IT! We're still buzzing from the incredible weekend we just had! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $1,019,130 for mental healthcare in the Triangle, which will directly impact 11,021 people! A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, food and beverage vendors, artists, musicians, impact partners, and especially YOU for showing up and making this possible. We are so grateful. But the work doesn’t end here. Let’s keep the conversation going—continue showing up, speaking out, and advocating for mental health. Remember, vulnerability is our greatest strength and connection ❤️

Well, this is about the only time you’re going to see me on stage with real life rock stars. I’m so grateful to Band Together NC for their amazing support of #BehavioralHealth. Last weekend, the #BlackPumas headlined a concert at Red Hat Amphitheater that raised over $1 million for direct mental health & substance use care in Raleigh-Durham-Triangle area. Huge shout out to the amazing work of these partners doing the work, all the sponsors that made this possible, all the folks who showed up in support, the United Way of the Greater Triangle, Eric Guckian, and absolutely, 100%, the force and will of Thorne Daubenspeck. See you next year!

Founder/Executive Director at The Great Raleigh Clean Up Inc

Over the past two weeks, some of our Workforce members have earned additional income outside of our City of Raleigh Municipal Government Beautification Contract, assisting with setup at El Pueblo, Inc.'s Fiesta del Pueblo celebration and teardown at Band Together NC's Mighty Giveback 2024. Their strong work ethic and desire to stay busy received only positive feedback! Let these men be a powerful reminder of the strength and goodness within the unhoused community, breaking any misconceptions. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this program and to work alongside them.
