Today, we honor Barbara Geralds whose belief in the power of experiential learning continues to inspire our efforts. At the Storytelling Institute, we partner in projects that allow students to learn alongside community members and discover and develop their interests through doing. It seems only fitting that our recent release “Fostering Curiosity Through the Arts” is dedicated to the loving memory of Barbara. We invite you to take a few moments and enjoy this story about Passion Works Studio, a community making space where participants are encouraged to “just do stuff… it will lead you to what you love.” Our students, too, do this on the daily. Guided by mentors Lynn Harter and Megan Westervelt, students Jorge Antonio Castillo-Castro, Olivia Raney, Francis Ametepey, and now alum Chuck Kaminski carried their curiosity to the studio with pen and paper, cameras, and recorders. They played and explored alongside artists and now we invite you to experience one story they helped you craft. Enjoy!
