When used properly and with the right GIS tools from Esri, the Baron Model can be used to pinpoint potential disasters on a much smaller scale than what you can get for free.

A dangerous situation is shaping up for the #South in the next 24 hrs. I took the potential spin values from the Baron Weather model and used #ArcGISPro to highlight where the highest risk of tornadoes will be through midday Sunday. Updraft helicity (spin) can be misleading if not used properly. While the Baron Model is highly credible, it would be foolish to zoom into specific tracks and suggest that's precisely where tornadoes will form. However, the bigger picture tells a story. I used Cell Statistics to show the max value over the entire model run at every location. Focal Statistics were then used to smooth the data into polygons. This paints an easier picture of identifying areas at greatest risk on a more regional scale. #LAwx #MSwx #ALwx #TXwx
