  • We are incredibly grateful for the vibrant and growing business community in the Capital Region! This year, we've had the privilege of celebrating the grand openings of numerous new businesses and welcoming new investors who are helping to shape the future of Baton Rouge. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our region’s growth. Together, we're building a stronger, more prosperous region! Here's to continued success and collaboration. Check out a few of this year’s ribbon cuttings!

  • Exciting advancements at LSU! In early 2025, the LSU College of Engineering, in partnership with Halliburton and ExxonMobil, will begin drilling a unique third research well at the LSU Petroleum Engineering Research, Training and Testing Laboratory (PERTT Lab). This state-of-the-art well will allow students, researchers, regulators, and industry leaders to explore CO₂ in all three phases under realistic field conditions. This announcement comes as a major win for the H2theFuture Coalition, which was formed to establish a world-leading clean hydrogen cluster in South Louisiana. BRAC is a proud member of the coalition, and celebrates this announcement alongside all of the partners! https://lnkd.in/gqnTkGkz

  • We are so grateful to our BTR Dinner hosts who opened their homes last night for an evening of unexpected connections! BRAC is committed to bolstering the talent pipeline, which can look like education advocacy work, building an internship ecosystem, or even hosting a dinner to help newcomers build roots in the region. Whatever it looks like, we want our residents to know living, working and playing are just better in BTR.

Last night, as part of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s “BTR Dinner,” I had the privilege of having 10 strangers come together in my home in Baton Rouge. We started as unfamiliar faces, but after just three hours, we left as friends. It’s amazing what can happen when you open yourself up to new opportunities and connections over a meal. I was honored to be a host for this event and humbled to be part of such an incredible group. Baton Rouge has so much talent and so many wonderful people, and this dinner was a great reminder of that. #BTRDinner #BRAC #Community #Networking #BatonRouge #NewConnections

  • The BRAC team was thrilled to host the Office of Governor Jeff Landry for a full day tour of the Capital Region's economic assets. Our stop at LSU featured: ◾ LSU Digital Media Center - The home to AI and cyber labs, as well as R&D offices of several defense firms. ◾ Our Lady of the Lake Interdisciplinary Science Building - A new building to house the next generation of doctors, data scientists, engineers, scientists, and technologists. ◾ LSU Dairy Store - A full-scale commercial dairy processing plant. ◾ LSU AgCenter La House Resource Center - A living lab that displays sustainable, resilient and healthy home building practices for the gulf region. ◾ LSU PERTT Lab - A learning lab for students, and adaptable research space for Louisiana’s energy, cyber-physical, and critical infrastructure technology. Each site highlighted LSU's strength as an economic driver, research hub and talent development powerhouse for the Capital Region.

  • Let's geaux! As the Capital Region strengthens its global leadership in the energy sector, this innovative facility will further enhance research capabilities and help train the next generation of energy professionals right here in Baton Rouge.

Today, we're announcing that in early 2025, the LSU College of Engineering, in collaboration with Halliburton and ExxonMobil, will begin drilling a third research well at our PERTT Lab on LSU’s campus. This new, one-of-its-kind well will enable students, researchers, regulators, and industry to study CO2 in all three of its phases under realistic field conditions. The well will not be operational and will not inject any CO2 into the subsurface. The well will be solely used for research purposes and is expected to have significant research value.
