  • With over 7 million Native American and Native Alaskan people living in the US who make up hundreds of diverse tribes and tribal nations, Indigenous people are a diverse population that has a rich array of cuisine, art, music, and more. During this month, we are encouraged to take the time to reflect on the vital importance of preserving the Native American heritage. It highlights the need for us to learn about and acknowledge the challenges the Indigenous people have and continue to face. We encourage all to spend time this month learning about and honoring the contributions of the Native American people. #nativeamerican #nativeamericanheritagemonth

  • November 11th is Veterans Day, a time we set aside to honor and thank those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Known originally as Armistice Day when it was commemorated in 1919, the date was selected to recognize the end of World War I, which officially concluded at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. In 1954 it was renamed Veterans Day and was expanded to recognize the service and sacrifices of all U.S. military veterans. Join us in expressing gratitude to those who have served and continue to serve, honoring their dedication to protecting our freedoms and their ongoing contributions to our communities. We’d also like to extend a special thanks to those in our Brown & Brown Absence Services family who have served or are serving. Let’s strive to honor their legacy through our actions and commitments in our daily lives, shaping a brighter future ahead. #veteransday #thankyouveterans #militaryappreciation

  • Each year Social Security (SS) and Supplemental Social Security (SSI) beneficiaries await the announcement of whether a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will occur. The purpose of COLA is to help offset the impacts of rising costs of goods and services as well as inflation. The amount applied can also affect Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries who are often impacted by financial pressures and instability.      The 2025 COLA has just been announced at 2.5%, which is in line with the average COLA increase (2.6%). Scroll through the slides to learn more about how COLA is determined and what it can mean for those also receiving SSDI.    #SSI #SSA #SSDI #COLA
