Bruce McManus – Longtime Attorney, Philanthropist, Community Friend 05/14/1935 – 01/03/2025 Memorial Service Sunday, January 19, 2025 - 2:00 PM First Baptist of Indian Rocks 12685 Ulmerton Road It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear friend, mentor, active community partner, and longtime BBA member, Bruce McManus. “You are successful if you are able to give others a sense of well-being.” This quote by Bruce perfectly reflects the life he led. A Life Well-Lived Early Life & Education: Born in Chicago. Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Served in the U.S. Army. Worked for Mobil Oil in Texas, New Mexico, and Venezuela before moving to Belleair Bluffs in 1962 to join his father Fred’s law firm. Graduated at the top of his class from Stetson Law School, becoming a Florida Board Certified Wills, Trusts, and Estates lawyer. Professional Accomplishments: Incorporated the family firm, McManus & McManus, in 1976. Earned an MBA from the University of South Florida in 1982. Built a legacy with a fourth-generation firm:Daughter Mary McManus Taylor joined the firm in 1993. Granddaughter Danielle Noble joined in 2015. Family Life: Married his high school sweetheart, Audrey, and shared over 50 years together. Proud father of three children, grandfather to 12, and great-grandfather to 8. Contributions to the Community Professional Memberships: American Bar Association Florida Bar Association Clearwater Bar Association Pinellas County Estate Planning Council Community Involvement: Bluffs Business Association: Longtime member and supporter. Central Park Performing Arts Center: Played a key role in its construction by coordinating private contributions. Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation: Founding member and sponsor of the holiday lights program. Community Service Foundation, Clearwater Audubon Society, and Florida Audubon Society: Dedicated supporter. Charitable Affiliations: Indian Rocks Baptist Church Hospice of the Florida Suncoast Foundation (served on the Board of Directors) Largo Library Foundation American Red Cross Friends of Ridgecrest Our heartfelt condolences go out to the McManus family and friends during this difficult time. Bruce’s legacy of service, generosity, and dedication will never be forgotten.
