We are very excited to welcome Amy Pitelka as a Senior Fellow at the UC Berkeley Center for Law and Business! A Harvard Law graduate and tech legal and policy strategist, Amy brings extensive experience across private practice, startup leadership, and public service innovation. Her career began in corporate private equity M&A at Kirkland & Ellis in London, followed by hybrid roles at Google and Dropbox, where she bridged corporate, commercial, and product legal practices. As the first practicing tech lawyer at the United States Digital Service (USDS), she developed critical policy expertise and briefly served as the USDS Acting Deputy Administrator. Amy's entrepreneurial spirit led her to found Barker Pitelka PLLC, where she guides teams through complex legal challenges in emerging technologies, converging regulatory environments, commercial transactions, and product and program development. And her commitment to public service continued through the Biden-Harris Transition and Administration. Her perspective of work in public, private, and non-profit organizations to drive innovation at the intersection of law, technology, and public service is invaluable as our center explores the new era of the climate crisis, AI, and economic inequality.
