Two of our researchers, Roland Molontay and Donát Köller recently visited the National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences in Bucharest as part of the BEAMING PROJECT. Our researchers engaged in forward-looking discussions with Alina BUȚU, Rodino Steliana, and Marian BUTU about open science best practices at our institutes and expressed their strong commitment to future collaborative projects. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership brings and look forward to advancing our shared goals!

Advancing Open Science and Bioeconomy with BEAMING: Our BOKU Centre for Bioeconomy is proud to contribute to the BEAMING PROJECT, a Horizon Europe initiative strengthening bioeconomy research and innovation in Central, Eastern, and Southeast Europe. The project fosters knowledge exchange, capacity-building, and Open Science collaboration across leading institutions. As part of these efforts, BOKU recently welcomed partners from the Univerzitet u Banjoj Luci, the Hungarian Innovation Agency, and the Serbian Institut za razvoj i inovacije – IRI. Together, they explored Open Science strategies, attended the Austrian Cluster Forschungsdaten’s Research Data Expo, and shared insights on bioeconomy-driven research. Shortly after, a BOKU delegation traveled to University Educons in Novi Sad to continue these discussions, exchanging best practices on technology transfer and research impact in the bioeconomy. These collaborations are shaping a more integrated and innovative approach to sustainable development. With 80 percent of its institutes engaged in bioeconomy research, BOKU plays a leading role in advancing sustainable innovation. Since its establishment in 2019, the BOKU Centre for Bioeconomy has driven interdisciplinary research, international cooperation, and education, ensuring that bioeconomy research translates into real-world impact. Looking Ahead: Through BEAMING, BOKU continues to foster scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration across Europe.
