  • Should You Use Calligraphy for Your Invitations? Calligraphy (from the Greek word "kallos" meaning beauty) - is an ancient art from as early as 600 BC. It has been a respected and revered art in Asian, European and Western culture for centuries. In a digital and fast-paced world, the art of calligraphy requires time and an extreme attention to detail and that's what makes it so special. We adore calligraphy and hand lettering and use them in as much as we can in all of our creations - wedding invitations, envelopes, escort cards, place cards, menus, programs, table signs. We have the most talented calligraphers and hand letterers who have been refining their skills for years. We can do calligraphy on most any surface - paper (of course), chalkboards, tiles, leaves, shells, agate, wood, acrylic and glass are just some examples! We can also do just about any ink of your choice. To continue read, please visit https://lnkd.in/edcG8hDZ .

  • The Dos and Don'ts When Creating Your Reply Cards There are so many details to creating the perfect wedding invitation! One very important piece in your wedding suite is the Reply Card. We cannot stress enough the importance of the reply card! This little card will ensure that you are clear as to who is coming and who is not which is information you'll need to share with your venue and caterer. Here are 10 Dos and Don'ts that you should remember when creating your reply card. 1. Do ensure it's the right size. Reply cards are typically 3.5" x 5" and the envelope is a standard A1 3.5" x 4 7/8." This is the smallest size that the post office will mail. You can go bigger of course with your design but you can't go smaller. To continue reading, please visit https://lnkd.in/eqVwW6en .

  • A Love Story in Vintage Postage Stamps Even at the very first meeting with a wedding couple, I am already thinking about the postage. Why? Because there are so many design possibilities - and stories to tell - with vintage stamps. The decision to use vintage stamps needs to be made at the beginning of the process for a variety of reasons. 1. Whether you do it on your own or with a stamp curator, the sizes of multiple stamps have to be considered with the size, weight and shape of the envelope. We do a physical mock up and take it to the post office (sometimes more than once) to make sure that we are absolutely covered. To continue reading, please visit https://lnkd.in/ezwSCG9G .

  • Summer Magic Growing up, summers on Cape Cod meant so many things: Lily Pulitzer mini dresses, boat shoes, sailing, swimming on the pond and in the ocean followed by the world’s best ice cream (daily), outdoor showers, huge lacey hydrangea blossoms, summer romances (because everyone is better looking in the summer), my parents mixing gin & tonics (which they were somehow liberal about allowing us to taste as teenagers, although they never let us drink any other time), my mom throwing dinner parties with lobsters and steamers, followed by fresh berry pies and hilarious games of charades (enhanced by the G&Ts). Most of all, summer gave me the sense of limitless possibilities. What memories will you make this summer? Now is the time for you to create those indelible moments for your friends, your family, your kiddos, or maybe just you and your special someone. • We Just Love Wax Seals! We are thrilled that wax seals have seen such a huge resurgence lately! We could easily use them on just about anything- wedding invitations, place cards, programs, favors - the possibilities are endless. The use of wax seals date back to the Middle Ages, when they were typically made of beeswax. Originally, the wax was used in its natural color and then it was colored with red or Vermilion. By the late 1800s, many different colors were used: white, yellow, gold, black, green. Wax seals were used to close documents and prevent tampering as it traveled to its destination. A signet ring might have been used by pressing into the hot wax to show the identity of the sender. To continue reading, please visit https://lnkd.in/eBkPXTmv .
