Brittany Whitley, PhD, Director of Regional Workforce Strategy, presented alongside Maggie Farrell of the Missouri Works Initiative on building pre-apprenticeship opportunities in St. Louis. 🎉 Congratulations to BioSTL extern, Michael Gillespie! 🎉   As part of our externship program, Michael joined us for a site visit at Sentio BioSciences LLC in October. We’re beyond excited to share that he’s now started there as a full-time employee!   We’re thankful for our partners who make this program possible, helping us connect talent with opportunities and strengthen the bioscience ecosystem in St. Louis.   Here’s a snapshot from our celebration dinner where we gathered with Michael, Sentio Biosciences co-founder Flavia D'Souza, and family to honor his journey and bright future. 🌟

Creating impactful tools for healthcare starts with listening—whether it’s decision-makers shaping the future of care or the professionals ensuring it runs smoothly every day. That’s why last week was so inspiring. At the GlobalSTL 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁, we connected with healthcare leaders and innovators, pitched our solutions and explored the future of surgical care. Their feedback and fresh perspectives sparked exciting conversations about innovation and collaboration. Later, at the AORN 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, we had the chance to meet with surgical professionals who bring care to life in the OR. These conversations—packed with stories, challenges, and insights—remind us why it’s so important to stay close to the heart of healthcare. Every interaction shapes how we continue to support the incredible people driving care forward. I have discovered many treasures in St. Louis and BioSTL / GlobalSTL is one of them. They have been at the forefront of transforming the St. Louis economy by fostering innovation and global interconnectedness. The Summit brought companies from around the country and the world to share innovations that will help transform healthcare. I love that they got to see STL for its potential and all it has to offer.
