  • Valentines Day for Cell Culture Scientists just means SO.MUCH.MORE! I mean seriously, BioTC Oklahoma Cell Culture Instructor Brandy Kickapoo could be at her bioreactor for a minute or two wishing all 21,600,000,000 of her cells a Happy Valentines Day! 😱 Yes… she speaks to her cells daily as she adjusts feeds and temperatures and monitors their health. And her numbers/results are proving that they probably do listen. 🤪

  • January has been a Month of Milestones for the BioTC Oklahoma team. We’ve experienced OKC Innovation District’s Innovation Hall Grand Opening followed days later by a formal ribbon cutting ceremony for the Convergence OKC campus. Today was a milestone that saw little fanfare and wasn’t necessarily flashy, but for our team it meant a great deal and a day we’ve all worked so hard for. Two vials of mammalian cells (CHO cells) were thawed and cell culture processes were started. Yes, BioTC is officially conducting “science”! 🧬🔬🥼 This is important because these cells will be utilized to perform “proof of concept” runs through our many curriculum activities and shake-down our new equipment in anticipation of upcoming cohorts. So join us in this CELL-ABRATION! 🎉🥳 #biotech #biomanufacturing #innovation #cellculture With: Koey Keylon Kelley Dowd Brandy Kickapoo Charles Burton Kacy Unsell

  • UPDATE: We are shutting down immediately, as the roads are getting worse much quicker than originally expected. Stay safe everyone! The snow looks beautiful on Innovation Hall! But to keep our employees safe, we will be closing early today and open late tomorrow.

  • UPDATE: Some very key technologies from Waters Corporation were recently installed in our QC Analytics lab. The Acquity UPLC systems will be utilized in our curriculum for trainees to get hands-on experience with protein analysis like size-exclusion (SEC) and reverse phase (RP) assays. The BioAccord LC-MS system, however, will play multiple roles: 1) utilized as an entry-level technology to introduce trainees to mass spec technologies that are typically intimidating to learn on. AND 2) as an ecosystem support technology, as its extensive built in library makes it a breeze to analyze spent media in cell culture samples opening new doors for research and industry process development.

Our friends from Waters Corporation recently installed two Acquity H-Class UPLC systems alongside a BioAccord LC-MS system. The innovative BioAccord is now securely positioned on an ionBench, cleverly concealing the vacuum pump and nitrogen generator within noise-reducing enclosures. It's a significant step forward in enhancing our lab setup and preparing us for seamless operations! #LabTechnology #Innovation #HPLC #LCMS

  • We like to feel that we “thought of everything”… MANY of our technologies will of course come with apps and/or the ability to “stream” to our interactive large display panel TVs on the lab walls. AND here’s a terrific example: our Nikon Instruments Eclipse Ts2 microscopes come with incredible high-powered built-in cameras. So anything the trainees see in the microscope eyepieces, can also be seen on our large lab display screens (or on their phones) thru the app! Here’s some example pics of a slide containing colon cells being “cast” from the microscope across the lab to the display screen. Our Instructors can even perform many microscope camera functions from the app on the display. It can even record video of someone changing magnification and/or moving around the slide! This is a powerful, new-age training tool! AND THANK YOU Dawn Bender, PhD and Nick Winter for equipping us with this terrific technology! 🔬
