Half of pregnant patients with a fetal malformation are misdiagnosed due to errors made by ultrasound operators. When the mass majority of fetal and maternal anomalies are screened for using ultrasound, operator error leads to risk for morbidity and mortality for both mother and baby. BioticsAI is solving this problem once and for all.
BioticsAI uses AI to help obstetricians detect fetal and maternal abnormalities in ultrasound. Our AI platform tackles misdiagnosis at the source, providing autonomous, computer vision driven quality assurance and abnormality localization on every ultrasound screening conducted by our users - ensuring patients and their providers have all of the information required for a healthy pregnancy journey.
We’re at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference in Chicago showcasing BioticsAI on the Radiology Reimagined stage. See how BioticsAI is improving prenatal outcomes and integrates seamlessly with ultrasound tools and workflows. Booth #5104

Incredible work from our team at BioticsAI, in collaboration with Dr. Itamar Futterman and medical researchers from the NYC MFM Research Consortium, on publishing one of the world's first predictive ML models for Placenta Accreta Spectrum in the American Journal of Perinatology.
One question I often get is: “How will the next decade of medical imaging AI differ from the last?” My short answer: The last ten years have mostly been about single-modality applications—companies like Viz.ai, Aidoc, and Caption Health building predictive models focused on specific, isolated data sources (e.g., a model for detecting chest tumors in X-rays). These earlier models, groundbreaking in their own right, often matched or even surpassed human performance in narrow tasks.
But here’s the thing: most of the critical, complex diagnostics in medical imaging still haven’t been solved. The new developments in model architectures—transformers, generative AI—are changing that. These models can integrate different types of data (e.g., imaging, lab results, and patient history) to produce a more holistic understanding of complex conditions, combining different indicators to reach a level of accuracy and insight we couldn’t touch before. For us, this means taking our work in OB and Gyn imaging and layering in additional data sources to address the most challenging problems in maternal health no medical imaging AI has been able to crack yet. This isn’t just incremental; it’s a fundamental shift in what’s possible.

Yes, I talk with my hands! 😆 I had a fantastic time at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco this year, sharing the stage with Sheeba Dawood and Aaron Hall. It was a great opportunity to showcase how BioticsAI is advancing prenatal diagnostics, tackling critical challenges in maternal health, and reflect on how far we’ve come since last year’s win.
Reflecting on our journey since Startup Battlefield and hearing the stories of fellow past winners was truly inspiring. Huge congrats to this year's winner Salva Health — they’re tackling an incredibly important problem in breast cancer diagnosis, and I’m excited to watch their journey unfold!

Excited to be speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt alongside Sheeba Dawood, CEO & Co-Founder of Minerva Lithium, and Aaron Hall, CEO & Founder of Intropic Materials! Our panel, moderated by Mike Butcher, Editor-at-Large at TechCrunch, will be on the Disrupt Stage at 11:15 AM Pacific.
Join us to hear how BioticsAI is advancing diagnostic accuracy in pregnancy care. Looking forward to sharing how we’re tackling critical challenges and improving outcomes in maternal health!
From late night studying side by side back in university to now seeing my good friend Robhy Bustami speaking at the same event as icons like Sara Foster, Colin Kaepernick and Wesley Chan — what a journey! Honored to be an early investor and a small part of this incredibly impactful company. Super excited for this year's TechCrunch Disrupt lineup!
Come meet our CEO Robhy Bustami and COO Salman Khan at #HLTH in Las Vegas (Booth 4066-7). We'll be showcasing the latest in AI for maternal and prenatal diagnostic imaging!
It's official! The BioticsAI Team and I will be attending HLTH 2024, happening Oct 20 - 23 in Las Vegas. Come say "Hi!" at the BioticsAI booth ( #4066-7 ) and check out the latest in AI for accurate and reliable prenatal diagnostic imaging!
