At Bioversity, our students acquire biopharmaceutical industry-relevant skills through experiential learning. Today, we had the pleasure of having Jerry Cullivan, Business Development Manager from Middlesex Gases teaching our students how to safely handle diverse types of gas tanks in a laboratory setting. Our students learned the essential knowledge and gained the crucial skills to meet current biopharmaceutical industry demands. Thank you, Jerry, for sharing your ample expertise with us!! 👏 👏 👏 #Bioversity #MCPHS #MassBio

Introducing, Kenneth Whitt, one of the newest members of Bioversity! 🧪 Why did you choose Bioversity, and what do you hope to achieve in terms of skill development, personal growth, and professional goals through your participation? I hope to become more disciplined, improve my ability to introduce myself to new people, and develop valuable skills that will help me grow professionally. As we build a strong community within the program, tell us about a hobby or interest outside of work or education that brings you joy. How do you plan to balance your personal interests with the demands of the program? Putting Bioversity first will help me do what I enjoy, such as watching football, playing video games, and other relaxing activities. Life science employers: this cohort graduates on March 6! We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization. While this cohort is still in progress, check out some of our recent graduates: https://lnkd.in/egMrzRcV Zach Stanley Ross Marshall

Meet Jahaira Candelaria, one of the newest additions to the Bioversity team! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. I am Puerto Rican, born and raised in Boston, MA. I am the mother of a 15-year-old boy with Down syndrome. I started working at 14 as a peer leader for a nonprofit. After that, I worked with children of all ages until I graduated high school. I then spent several years at a brokerage firm before transitioning into the healthcare field, where I spent most of my adult life. While I enjoyed every employer I worked with, I never was intentional about the work I did. I worked a job, fulfilled my obligations, and went home. There was always a lack of interest on my part. I now find myself being very intentional, excited, and eager to start my journey in a career in Life Sciences. There is so much meaning in this industry and many opportunities to explore. As we build a strong community within the program, tell us about a hobby or interest outside of work or education that brings you joy. How do you plan to balance your personal interests with the demands of the program? At the moment I only have interest in rebuilding myself—growing and learning more each day. My true passion is being of service to others, and I practice that in many ways every day. Balance is created when you understand what is important. I believe there is time for all things. By staying organized and intentional, I plan to successfully manage both my personal interests and the demands of the program. Life science employers: this cohort graduates on March 6! We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization. Introducing, Elie Jeudi, one of the newest members of Bioversity! ⚗️ Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before joining Bioversity, I worked remotely as a Customer Service Agent for Omni Interactions. I’m originally from Haiti but spent over five years living in the Dominican Republic, which allowed me to develop strong basic Spanish skills. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I chose Bioversity because it brings me one step closer to my goals. I have always wanted to expand my knowledge in chemistry, and I hope this opportunity opens new doors for me in the job market. Life science employers: this cohort graduates on March 6! I chose Bioversity because of the incredible benefits it offers. Being paid to learn and given this life-changing opportunity was something I couldn’t pass up. Through this experience, I hope to gain confidence and expand my knowledge in this field. How do you believe your past experiences have prepared you for success in this workforce development program? I have been working since I was 18 years old. Instead of going to college and focusing on my education, I chose to leave home and enter the workforce to earn money. Introducing Bernard Cherelus, a proud new member of the Bioversity community! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. I am originally from Haiti and the proud father of a nine-year-old son. Before relocating to the U.S. to escape threats, I served as the Communications and Program Visibility Manager at Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE). After arriving in the U.S., I worked as a Driver Associate at Amazon. I am excited to be part of the Bioversity program and the Life Scientist workforce in New England, as this role allows me to contribute in a more meaningful way. How do you believe your past experiences have prepared you for success in this workforce development program? I believe that my diverse background and resilience in overcoming significant challenges have laid a solid foundation for success in this workforce development program. During my time in Haiti as a Communications and Program Visibility Manager, I honed skills in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning—all of which are crucial for thriving in any collaborative and fast-paced setting. Additionally, my experience adapting to a new country and navigating different roles has strengthened my adaptability and perseverance. These experiences have taught me the value of clear communication, teamwork, and continuous learning, and I’m confident they will help me excel and make meaningful contributions in this program.
