Byron Cryer, M.D. has been a mentor of Dr. Dale's for over a decade. Actually, he's been a mentor to great portion of doctors who trained in the Dallas Ft. Worth Area. His contributions to the medical field go far beyond what most people realize (as a clinician, administrator, and educator). It was truly an honor for Dale Okorodudu, MD to sit down with his mentor and learn how he grew from a little boy in Key West, Florida to the future President of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and Chair/Chief of Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center, and board member at Parkland Health. A take home lesson is he's always had a plan and a path. This started with his parents at a very young age and he has since continued to use that model to reach success after success. Awesome kid and mom from Texas. They missed our Dallas Ft Worth Black Men In White Coats Youth Summit 2 weekends ago but this amazing mother wanted to be sure her son could experience our event. They flew all the way out to see us at our Los Angeles summit yesterday which was hosted by our partners at Cedars-Sinai. That’s dedication! Kudos to this mother!
