President of @ PS UF | Product Lead @ Majitech | Prev. 2x Software Engineer Intern @ C Spire | CS @ UF

Failing consistently just landed me a dream internship! 🎉 Today, I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be joining C Spire this summer as a Customer Products PM Intern! But let's rewind and celebrate the failures that got me here: 📊 The Stats of Failure: • 300+ internship applications submitted • 300+ rejections received • 50+ recruiters messaged, most of whom never replied • Countless hours refining resumes, cover letters, and my LinkedIn profile Each "no" chipped away at my confidence. Each ghosted message and rejection email led to discouragement. There were days I questioned if I had made a mistake switching career paths. But here's the best part about failure: it's the world's best teacher if you're willing to learn. 💡 Every rejection forced me to refine my approach: • Turned LinkedIn into my personal brand platform 📢 • Launched a startup and made my first sale 💵 • Became an officer for different organizations 🧑💻 • Attended every tech meetup and PM workshop I could find, even when I felt like an imposter 🤝 As our wise Animal Crossing otter friend Pascal says, "A belly flop is just a swan dive getting workshopped" and I workshopped a lot of them. 🦦 To Katherine Dehmer and Corey Feldstein at C Spire: thank you for your help in the hiring process and for seeing potential in my journey of growth. I'm excited to work with the Product team this summer! To my fellow students: Embrace your failures. They're not stop signs; they're redirections. Be proactive, not reactive. Your dream opportunity might not exist yet—so go out there and create it! 🫵 Lastly, shoutout to all the wonderful mentors and inspirations I've met along the way. Thank you to jeff nguyen, Christina Wang, Macy So, Kimberly S. for being so kind, supportive, and encouraging on this journey. 🤍 Share your own Failing Forward journey below - let's celebrate our stumbles together! 👇 __________ ♻️ Like and repost to inspire others to embrace their failures! 👉 Follow Matthew Li to join the "Failing Forward" adventure #FailingForward  #professionaldevelopment #university #students #internship #career #networking #jobsearch #productmanagement #programmanagement

Celebrating Women in Tech As a young woman pursuing a career in tech, I’m constantly inspired by the incredible ladies who are leading the charge in technology. From software developers to cybersecurity experts, women are not only making their mark - they’re transforming tech. More women are joining the field, challenging stereotypes, and showing that innovation has no boundaries. Every day, women are creating solutions, building infrastructure, and paving the way for future generations of tech leaders. Women like Ada Lovelace (the first computer programmer), Kimberly Bryant (founder of Black Girls Code), and Radia Perlman (the “mother of the internet”) have laid the foundation for what we see today. But it’s not just women who have helped pave the way for us - It’s the women in tech today, like developers, engineers, analysts, and leaders who are showing us all that there is a place for every voice in technology. To all the women in tech and those inspiring to be: You belong here. Your ideas, your creativity, your skills are exactly what this field needs to continue to grow and innovate. Whether you’re just starting out or already making waves, keep pushing forward. The world needs your perspective and your contributions more than ever. #WomenInTech

  • With recent news and political developments happening in the United States, it would be understandable if there have been feelings of stress, anxiety, and fear regarding the conversations being had lately about DEI+, immigration, the economy, and the overall political landscape. For the community that is based or impacted by events happening in the United States, a lot has been happening - so much so that it can sometimes feel a little surreal. I know there isn't much I can provide to comfort those affected, but I wanted to repeat that BobaTalks will always strive to be a safe space for its community - for our students, mentors, guests, and friends. BobaTalks believes in the importance of DEI+ programs and initiatives, and we stand firmly by those hurt by recent comments on immigration. We know that the world might feel a little grey to many as of late - please know that our little community will always be a safe space for those who need it.
