Great people supporting great communities

About us

The clients who turn to Bohannan Huston, Inc., (BHI) to support their infrastructure needs have been the foundation of our firm's longstanding success since 1959. Within BHI's diverse company structure, our clients find a full range of integrated services under one roof to plan, study, design, survey, map, and build whatever their communities need. At the heart of Bohannan Huston is the idea of great people supporting great communities. We firmly believe that our people are the biggest reason public and private agencies turn to our team for all their infrastructure needs. BHI planners, engineers, surveyors, spatial data specialists, and construction inspectors and testing technicians partner with our clients to deliver projects that improve the quality of life for present and future generations. Clients can count on BHI's staff to provide a full range of services. As such, our work supporting our communities takes many forms. With expertise spanning from initial concepts to final construction completion, working together with our clients, BHI's support really translates to great people imagining, planning, surveying, mapping, visualizing, designing, connecting, building, maintaining (… and more) great communities.

  • Recognizing the importance of BOTH quality work AND quality of life, Bohannan Huston will be closing our offices from December 25, 2024, through January 1, 2025. This is a new benefit we are offering our staff, allowing everyone to enjoy time off with friends and family during the holiday season. While we recognize that some project types can’t stop on account of holidays (and BHI leadership will communicate with those clients for whom work must continue), we concluded that observing the 25th through the 1st as paid holidays provides some well-deserved recharge time across the company. We appreciate our team’s hard work and dedication to serving our clients’ needs, and we look forward to refreshed team members returning to the office on January 2, 2025!   If you have any questions for us regarding this closure, please reach out to your project’s principal-in-charge or project manager.

  • Last week, the ASCE NM Section hosted its fall conference at the GAAR Event Center in Albuquerque. BHI was proud to contribute with two presentations. Zach Weaver and Caitlin Lardner teamed up to highlight recent NMDOT improvements to 2-lane roads in Southern NM. Alan Benham shared insights on innovations in surveying and evolving expectations for surveyors. It was a great chance to share knowledge, connect with peers, and support our engineering community. Thanks to ASCE NM for a fantastic event and to Zach, Caitlin, and Alan for representing BHI!

  • Despite the snowy weather, the UNM Alumni Awards dinner on November 7 was a wonderful celebration! Alandren Etlantus was honored as a 2024 Distinguished Alumni by the UNM School of Engineering for her remarkable contributions to Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering. The evening also celebrated the success of the "Our Time" campaign, which surpassed its $50 million goal, thanks to the leadership of Brian Burnett (BHI's former CEO/President), who received the Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Congratulations to Alandren and Brian on these well-deserved honors!
