Here’s how the next eras continued to shape who was seen as ‘fit’ to lead: Enlightenment (17th - 18th Century): Industrialization onset, with values of reason and education—still largely limited to white males. 19th Century: Industrial growth consolidated power through white male networks. Early 20th Century: Leaders navigated global crises, but access for women and people of color remained limited. 🌟 What does this mean today? These entrenched biases show us that we’re still dismantling outdated ideas of who belongs in leadership. This week, we’re taking a look back at how we got here, examining how societal structures have influenced who holds power: Ancient Civilizations (3000 BCE - 500 CE): Monarchy, divine rulers, and white male dominance. Middle Ages (500 - 1500 CE): Feudalism and protection roles limited to upper-class white males. Renaissance (14th - 17th Century): Centralized monarchies with limited access, primarily through arts patronage. 🌟 Why are we revisiting this history?
