About us

Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) is a responsible Alaska Native investment corporation dedicated to the mission of "Enriching Our Native Way of Life." Established through the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA), BBNC works to protect the land in Bristol Bay, celebrate the legacy of its people, and enhance the lives of its shareholders.   • BBNC, in partnership with the National Park Service, is seeking an Indigenous Cultural Intern! The internship will take place from January 15 - June 15, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, and will focus on documenting Indigenous place names from the Katmai area. The intern will conduct interviews with Elders and other Indigenous knowledge bearers, transcribe interviews, and upload place name information into BBNC’s Bristol Bay Online! platform, app, and Katmai National Park’s Cultural Heritage Resource Information System.   • Update: due to high demand, the application period for this opportunity has closed BBNC, in partnership with Bristol Bay Mission Lodge and the Covey Academy, is hosting a week-long culinary training from January 13-17, 2025 in Anchorage! The training will help participants prepare for jobs in the hospitality and tourism industries. Students will learn sanitation, kitchen safety, knife basics, cooking techniques, food presentation, teamwork, and communication skills. Questions?
