How do YOU really feel about meetings? In our annual State of Meetings Report—out today—we asked 1.2k business professionals this very question and more to understand what they love about meetings, dislike, and how they believe meetings can be improved. What we found might surprise you. 👀 81% of respondents said more meetings would actually help them in some way. You read that right. But, here’s the catch: That’s only if they’re productive meetings. Here's what else we found: - The time we spend just scheduling meetings has increased this year compared to 2023—no wonder we found there’s a growing appetite for AI in smart scheduling assistance. 🤖 - Most of us are multitasking during virtual meetings—a sign that we need to make that time more engaging and purposeful. ⚡ - Different age groups experience meetings differently—from establishing boundaries (which we found Gen Z does a great job of!) to keeping agendas on track. 📅 The bottom line—meetings themselves are not the problem. It’s all about how we approach them. This is just the tip of the data iceberg. Want to dive into ALL the findings and create #BetterMeetings ahead of 2025? Check out the report in the comments. ⤵

  • What pre-meeting questions do you include on your booking page or lead-qualifying forms? If you're not adding custom questions for people to answer when they book with you, this is your sign. This gives you key insights into their needs and goals before you meet. ➡️ Add them to your booking page, or Calendly routing forms!

  • Do you feel in control of your calendar? When it comes to mastering the art of focus, there's one generation leading the charge: Gen Z. 98% of Gen Z workers set calendar boundaries at least occasionally, with 67% of them doing so regularly according to our State of Meetings Report And they’re onto something — boundaries are a good thing! They help ensure you have time to actually get the most meaningful work done. You already know: the end of the year is busy. So here’s how to protect your time (and your team’s) this year, and into 2025: - Block focus or deep work time on your calendar, and encourage others to do the same. - For remote teams in different time zones, establish “core meeting hours” to respect everyone’s schedule. - Add buffer time before and after meetings to prep, recharge, or grab a coffee. (Easily set this up in your Calendly account.) Is there anything you like to do to protect your time? Let us know below (where you'll also find the full State of Meetings Report!) ⤵️

  • How many times have you said “we’ll circle back in January!” this month? ✋ If you can relate, this is your sign to add meeting buffers to protect your time in January — your future self will thank you!

  • What's one of the most important questions you can ask a prospect before a meeting? According to Chase Barmore, this one is key: "What piqued your curiosity to take this call today?" Asking this question sheds light on your prospect's pain points, enabling you to tailor your pitch and demo specifically to their needs. Pre-meeting prep 🤝 Post-meeting success Chase dives deeper into this and so much more in the latest episode of Meeting Momentum with Morgan J Ingram — find the full episode below in the comments! ➡️ And pro tip: Want to ask this question ahead of your meetings? Add it to the custom question field in your booking page or lead-qualifying routing forms.

  • We love this walkthrough! 🙌 How do *you* Calendly?

  • Today, we’re welcoming Shane Murphy-Reuter to Calendly as our new GTM President! Shane’s customer-first philosophy will be key for reimagining our growth strategy as we approach the next chapter of Calendly beyond scheduling. Please join us in celebrating Shane’s arrival! 👏

I’m excited to announce I’ve joined Calendly as President of Go To Market! This is a dream role and I’m incredibly grateful for the trust Tope Awotona has put in me to help take Calendly into the next phase of growth. I’ve followed Calendly's success for many years. There are a tiny number of tech companies that become the “Kleenex” of a category, and Calendly is one of them. They invented the scheduling category and continue to dominate it. But what got me even more excited was the plan to move beyond scheduling and extend the ways in which Calendly products can help customers build meaningful relationships. The vision is bold; the vision is achievable. More to come on that in the coming quarters! My role as President of Go To Market is also the culmination of my career journey from Marketing exec to GTM exec since taking over North America sales at AdRoll almost 10 years ago. I’ve worked for some of the best GTM orgs in SaaS but, having spent a bunch of time over the last year meeting with peers, something became really clear to me: - GTM hasn’t found an efficient operating model in the way Product and Engineering evolved into an industry-standard Triad model (Product Manager + Product Designer + Engineer). - GTM operations haven’t kept up with the evolution from a predominantly Sales-led B2B world to a now more typical hybrid Product-led and Sales-led growth motion. - The fact that CMOs and CROs are the shortest-serving execs in tech is testament to the fact that GTM orgs, on average, really suffer from this lack of an efficient operating model. I'm passionate about rethinking how modern SaaS companies go to market and I can’t wait to bring this to life with the incredible Calendly leadership team. Thanks again to Tope Awotona, John McCauley Jigar Desai and Shahara Jasion for the great partnership to date, and I’m excited to see what we can do together!

  • It probably won't surprise you that different generations have their own take on meetings. What *might* surprise you is which generations are most likely to report that the meetings they attend enhance their productivity. 🤔 Think you know? Guess below, then find the answer in the comments! ⤵️
