About us

The Center for California Studies is a public education, public service, and applied research unit of California State University, Sacramento. Founded in 1982 and located on the capital campus of the California State University (CSU), the Center houses many different programs and events, such as the prestigious Capital Fellows Program, The LegiSchool Project, Legislative Staff Management Institute, a Visiting Scholar Program, The Envisioning California Conference and Speaker Series, and more. The Center's mission is to "Bridge academia and government in the service of strengthening California's democracy."
