Tell people how you feel.” After Ira was diagnosed with stomach cancer, he navigated unique challenges including side effects from chemotherapy, surgery recovery and feeling like he was on an emotional rollercoaster. Great discussions today on utilization management methods and their implications on patients’ access to treatment and care at Cancer Support Community’s Utilization Management Summit. Thank you to Daneen Sekoni for bringing together a vibrant panel to dig deep into alternative funding programs (AFPs). I greatly appreciate the expertise and collaboration of my fellow panelists, Ashira Vantrees and Shelley Fuld Nasso, and our moderator, Michael R. Crawford. On behalf of CancerCare, and all members of the AFP Task Force, we welcome others to join our efforts to ensure patients have timely access to the specialty medications they need to treat their condition.
