🤖 What if robots could revolutionize fruit harvesting? 🍇 At the Autonomous Robotics Lab of Robot Technology – Danish Technological Institute, we've been hard at work transforming this vision into reality. Our team has successfully converted a tracked mobile base into a cutting-edge autonomous robot, pushing the boundaries of agricultural technology. Here's what we've accomplished: 1. Developed a robust autonomous navigation software stack, enabling our robot to operate efficiently in challenging real-world conditions. 2. Engineered and integrated advanced hardware components to enhance the robot's capabilities. 3. Designed and built an innovative Box Exchange Mechanism (BEM), facilitating transfer of grape-filled boxes between robot teams in the field under uneven terrains. I'm thrilled to have been part of the Canopies H2020 project, contributing to the development of these novel technologies that are set to reshape the future of agriculture. 🍇📢📢 Canopies partners have carried out real experiments and demonstrations throughout the month of September. The final demonstration of the project will be held on October 1 and 2. Many successes in this great challenge: robotics for table grape harvesting and pruning!!!

🍇 🍇 🍇 Antoni Grau, researcher from UPC, presented the Canopies robotic solution for table grape harvesting and pruning, in the workshop"Food losses in primary sector: quantification, prevention, good practices and technological solutions" in Cabrils, Spain, on May 23rd.

📢 📢 📢 During this week, Canopies team will develop an "integration week" at Pal Robotcs facilities in Barcelona, Spain. Robotic harvesting and pruning will be tested. Good luck to all our colleagues!!!

Durante l'European Robotics Forum, il nostro CEO Francesco Ferro è stato intervistato a proposito del futuro della robotica di servizio e dei robot collaborativi o "cobot" per il programma Codex, trasmesso su Rai3 e disponibile su RaiPlay, per il segmento "Umanoidi intelligenti". Ponendo in risalto l'importanza della robotica per la sanità e l'ambiente domestico, Francesco immagina un mondo dove ogni casa possa avere il proprio robot di servizio e trarne beneficio. Ha poi presentato i robot collaborativi descrivendone l'importanza a livello industriale e come il nome venga dalla collaborazione tra lavoratori e robot. Francesco ha quindi concluso l'intervista parlando di Canopies H2020, un progetto di ricerca finanziato con fondi europei per lo sviluppo di una soluzione innovativa alla carenza di lavoratori agricoli. Highlighting the importance of robotics in healthcare and domestic settings, Francesco envisioned a world where every home benefits from a service robot. He then introduced cobots, emphasising their importance in industrial settings and how they are named after the collaboration between robots and workers. Additionally, he talked about the CANOPIES, a research project funded by the EU, an innovative solution to agricultural labor shortages. The 2nd Review Meeting of the Canopies H2020 project, took part in Rome, Italy, on February 22nd and 23rd. CANOPIES project' research and results, to develop autonomous robots for harvesting and pruning table-grapes, were presented by the project partners.
