For our last #CarerHelp 'thoughts from carers about Christmas' post, we share Colleen's advice to bereaved carers carrying an emotional load this Christmas. “It’s important to remember them and talk about what it was like with him there. It was not easy but the day was all about being together and remembering Bill.” Wishing a Merry Christmas to all the carers across Australia and safe 2025 🧡 🎄

'Better access to palliative care' includes empowering the community pharmacy sector. Our friends at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia are doing just that and are looking for pharmacists to take part in a palliative care pilot project. Each pilot pharmacist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside medical, nursing and allied health staff to support patients and their carers with medication management, quality use of medicines, transitions of care and timely access to medicines. Pilot pharmacists will work either 1 day a week or 2 half days for a period of 12 months starting late March 2025, with project specific training and ongoing support provided by PSA. Expressions of interest are now being invited from pharmacists in the following locations to take part: 🧡Coffs Harbour, NSW 🧡Gold Coast, QLD 🧡Hobart, TAS 🧡Melbourne, VIC 🧡Orange, NSW 🧡Shepparton, VIC Submissions close 31 December, start here ➡️ https://ow.ly/wmru50UseLs
