Carolina Farm Stewardship Association reposted this
The food hubs of North Carolina wanted to take a moment here at the end of the year to highlight the work that the NC Department of Agriculture and Carolina Farm Stewardship Association have enabled us to accomplish with regard to the FarmsSHARE program. As a network, we’ve paid farmers $2.9 million dollars in the last 20 months. These farms span 69 counties from Cherokee to Wilmington. 239 farmers grow for the FarmsSHARE program, all sizes of farms and length of their farming careers, but they’re united in their love for growing for their neighbors. This program has sent boxes to 138 different place based community partners for distribution within their networks. Freshlist was an inaugural partner of this group in May of 2020 and FarmsSHARE and the food access programs it has spawned have become a vitale and cherished part of the work that we do. We're grateful to all of the farmers that grow amazing produce for this program for us and each of the hands that deliver them to homes.

As every farmer knows, sowing seeds is an inherently hopeful and brave act. Your gift today seeds real change across communities in the Carolinas. As 2024 draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for the incredible impact we've made together this year. Your support has allowed us to continue our vital work supporting farms and strengthening local food systems in the Carolinas through advocacy, education, and technical assistance. We are proud to support some of the Carolina's most purpose driven farmers and community leaders and are grateful to work alongside them. No gift is too small or too large. We’re counting on your support to raise $40,000 by December 31, 2024, so we can meet the growing needs of farmers in the Carolinas.

Working with the community, for the community. There are only 8 more days left to make a gift that powers CFSA’s impact on the local food system! Will you donate today to help us keep growing a better food system? Your support helps CFSA’s Lomax Farm provide land access and hands-on research-based education to farmers across the Carolinas. This has allowed us to donate 13,073 pounds of produce towards hunger relief. Programs like this would not have been possible without your support. Your gift today ensures that farmers and families have the resources they need for the benefit of our shared future. https://lnkd.in/gmvHuWWx
