We, at CATAL1.5°T Initiative, aim to strengthen local climate tech ecosystems in the Global South, to contribute to keeping the global warming close to 1.5° Celsius — and we can only achieve this through teamwork and collaboration.  The regional CATAL1.5°T platforms in Latin America and West Africa are run by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with Climate-KIC, TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY and Investisseurs & Partenaires - I&P. The CATAL1.5°T Initiative is funded by the international Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the German  Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). 🍃 Is climate tech maturing faster? And what might be trending in 2025? A recent article by MIT Technology Review gave some hopeful insights we wanted to share.     💭 It reflects on the urgency for climate tech to mature and offers hope that it’s already happening. From innovations in battery storage to advancements in carbon removal and sustainable fuels, the momentum is undeniable. But there’s still a long way to go.     At CATAL1.5°T, we believe that while climate tech alone won’t save the world, without tech solutions, we don’t stand a chance.
