Yesterday CCUS Network Australia (CCUSNA) was briefed by Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation on the WA CCUS Action Plan. Many of our members took part in the initial planning workshops and we have been keenly anticipating the plan's launch which took place last week. We applaud the Western Australian government for their strong support for CCUS and for articulating the role it will play in carbon management for both WA and WA's trading partners. One of the plan's objectives is "Foster coordination, and collaboration across government, industry and research to facilitate action". CCUSNA's tagline? "Fostering collaboration and innovation across Australia’s CCUS value chain". CCUSNA is looking forward to continued engagement with JTSI on all aspects of the plan. https://lnkd.in/dJNJHRCB

MEPAU have announced the Cygnus Hub, a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) development planned with Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers in the Mid West of Western Australia, home of MEPAU's operations. MEPAU has been operating in Australia for 20 years and delivering to the WA domestic gas market for nearly a decade and is in the process of developing new low carbon energy and carbon abatement projects. Last night was our inaugural technical talk and networking event, and what a fantastic kick off at the Shoe Bar 🚀. Many thanks to our speaker Ross Weiter from Worley, who covered a wide range of insights related to shipping and facilities handling of CO2. It was a very relevant presentation for both brownfield and greenfield CCS projects and prompted much discussion.
