Congratulations to our January Employee of the Month, Loretta! Yesterday, our CEO, Steve Vernon, and Chief of Nursing, Barb, had the pleasure of meeting with the Michigan Health & Hospital Association’s Chief of Nursing, Amy Brown, along with her team members, Lindsay and Lauren. It was a great opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen our collective commitment to improving mental health care across our state. We look forward to continuing this partnership and working together toward a brighter future for mental health in Michigan!

A new year calls for a new employee introduction! Meet Sarah, our Director of Clinical Services! Sarah is a Michigan State University graduate with a master's degree in social work. Her journey in behavioral health started as a Behavioral Health Technician here at Cedar Creek when we first opened in 2017. Since then, she's worn many hats, including roles in access and emergency services, inpatient mental health social work, and outpatient therapy. Joining Cedar Creek again in September 2024, Sarah brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new role, and we are excited to see all that she accomplishes. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her two sons, golfing, and thrifting! Please join us in welcoming Sarah to her new position. We are thrilled to have her leading the way in clinical services!

Kick off the new year by setting a few SMART mental health goals! Practice mindfulness for 10 minutes, 3 times a week; write down 3 things you're grateful for each day; and limit screen time to 1 hour before bed by February. Small, consistent steps can make a big difference in your well-being!
