This year, the Center created a scholarship to enable emerging professionals to attend Security Congress 2024 and learn first-hand from ISC2 members and other industry experts about the latest trends, issues, technologies and strategies shaping the current and future cybersecurity landscape. Through this scholarship, Eirik Marquez was able to attend Security Congress and meet cybersecurity professionals, network and learn about new and upcoming topics in cybersecurity. The ISC2 Women’s Scholarships were created with the intent of inspiring women to join the ever-growing field of cybersecurity. In 2024, the Center was able to award 22 women’s scholarships that made a difference in the lives of the next generation of cyber talent. Take it from Kelly Huang, one of the women’s scholarship recipients: "As a first-generation college student, receiving an ISC2 scholarship is a sign of affirmation: if I can dream it, I can do it. Studying cybersecurity at USC has been nothing short of a rewarding and empowering educational experience for me thanks to all of the friends, mentors, and professors who have helped shape me into the person I am today. I am fascinated by the future of cybersecurity education, and I hope to be at the forefront of changing cybersecurity technologies. I hope to utilize this scholarship opportunity to help young students do the same." Today is Giving Tuesday, and we are striving to reach a goal of $5,000 contributed towards our scholarship fund by the end of this week.
