We’re wrapping up our FAM tour highlights with a look back at an incredible Day 3! After a restful night at Hotel Trundle, the consultants kicked off the day at the iconic Segra Park in the BullStreet District, home to the Columbia Fireflies. There, our communities participated in a lively mock RFI exercise, showcasing their strengths and strategic assets. The day continued with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Scout Motors Inc.'s Connection Center, led by Joern Petri and Punam Patel. They walked us through Scout’s site selection journey and shared insights on why our region was the top choice for their operations—a testament to our thriving business ecosystem. We then explored the ongoing, dynamic developments at the BullStreet District, where our partners at AECOM hosted a panel discussion over a collaborative lunch. Industry leaders, including Shawn Newcomb from Starbucks, Matt Shaffer from BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Dave Bogan from Pactiv Evergreen Inc., and Mark Fredrickson from CMC, shared why the central region of SC has been instrumental to their business success. Wrapping up, our communities, consultants, and staff engaged in meaningful conversations, exchanging ideas and exploring the unique advantages and opportunities across our region. It’s been an incredible experience forming new connections and celebrating what makes our region truly special. We can’t wait to do it all over again next year! #CentralSCAlliance #CentralToEverything #CentralRegionOfSC #SouthCarolina #EconomicDevelopment

What better way to showcase the #CentralSCRegion on Day 2 of our FAM Tour than by visiting some of the area’s most impactful sites! We kicked off the morning at the Koger Center, where our consultants had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with our communities, followed by an exclusive backstage tour with Nate Terracio. Next, we headed to the McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research to witness the impressive, cutting-edge projects USC engineering students are leading guided by Emily Savage and Joshua Widawsky. The day continued with a discussion on workforce solutions led by Brad Neese, Walt Tobin, Akil Ross, Stephen Cutler, and Carter Price, highlighting how our region is addressing workforce needs. After enjoying The Gourmet Shop’s famous chicken salad, we hurried over for a behind-the-scenes look at the UPS Air Hub. Columbia Metropolitan Airport hosted our infrastructure tour and panel, featuring insights from Bonnie Ammons, Travis Frank, Kearney Gregory, Frank Murray, and Kellen Riley. To conclude this exciting day, we embarked on a Sunset Cruise providing our private sector investors the opportunity to network, mingle, and share their personal experiences as business leaders in the Central SC region. #CentralSCAlliance #CentralToEverything #CentralRegionOfSC #SouthCarolina #EconomicDevelopment
