One of our favorite quotes from Resound Project's most recent podcast episode: “If you are pronouncing your view about the minimum wage from the same pulpit from which you are reading the gospel—and not being very careful to distinguish that you are doing those two things with different levels of authority— then they get conflated. And so we find ourselves in this situation where to be a Christian comes with it mandatory prudential political views. Advent is one of my favorite times of the year, especially in New York. Festive decorations adorn the city streets, and there is a palpable sense of wonder, hope, and anticipation. During this special season, we celebrate the two comings of Jesus—first as a vulnerable baby and second when he will come again as the risen and reigning king. This season reminds us of the joy that is ours in Jesus. Even in the midst of the sorrows or hardships we may face this Advent season, we have great reason for joy because the Lord is come, the Lord has come, and the Lord will come to set right everything that once went wrong. We are promised that when God comes again, he will make all things new, including the people, places, and things we love.
