Dealing with Change is a challenge. Change introduces uncertainty, ambiguity, complexity. Moving your family and life to a new town for example. Will change lead to something good? Will there be unforeseen consequences? Will everyone be happy with it? For organizations the challenge is just the same. Envisioning the potential impact of Change is difficult. Will the changes be embraced? Can you overcome internal resistance to support a specific Change initiative? There is a way to enable better, faster Change. In our client engagements we prototype Change to make the outcome tangible in a way that lowers risk and reveals the impact of Change much earlier. The art of the interview… The most insightful part of the change process is gathering the personal stories of those who will be affected by the change. Whether you're initiating it or on the receiving end. We also find that this is the biggest threshold for clients to get over. Unless you are in the sales or service part of the organization, you don’t have a lot of contact with clients and prospects. Interviews and candid conversations are not in everyone’s comfort zone. However, it’s not as daunting as it seems. People love to be asked their opinion. And if you give them the space, time and attention, the stories they can tell you are invaluable. The work that begins when the client leaves

T is for Travel Travel belongs in the alphabet of change for several reasons. Exploration opens up thinking. Something always happens that sparks our curiosity and leads us into new territory of thinking we have not explored before. To us this is obvious, but for some organizations travel is not valued, not critical, definitely not essential. We believe it is.       We often travel to the cities where CHANGE UP is doing a workshop beforehand to get a view into their culture – what makes them tick. We don’t want to show up and drop in. This time is essential for us to design a meaningful immersive experience within our workshops. Always remembering we are the guests, witnessing and appreciating the places and people that host us. #designthinking #creative #designforgood #transformation #change #innovation
