The holidays are a time for connection, gratitude, and celebration—and at Chevy Chase Club, we believe in making the season special for everyone, especially the incredible team members who make our Club such an extraordinary place. This month, we hosted our Annual Employee Holiday Party, a beloved tradition that allows us to come together, reflect on the year, and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff. The evening was filled with festive cheer, delicious food, music, and, most importantly, the laughter and camaraderie that make our team feel like family. Our employees are the heart of Chevy Chase Club, bringing passion, care, and excellence to everything they do. Whether creating unforgettable moments for our members or working tirelessly behind the scenes, they are the reason our Club shines year-round. To our team: thank you for all you do! Your dedication inspires us, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. Wishing our staff, members, and community a joyful and restful holiday season filled with warmth and happiness. The holidays have officially arrived, and it’s all thanks to our amazing team of “elves”! As soon as we wrapped up Thanksgiving, every department came together to create holiday magic and transform the Club into a winter wonderland. It’s the perfect example of teamwork that makes the season shine!   Check out the video to see how our “elves” made it all happen and read below how our Horticulture team works year-round to make this season unforgettable: • The Drawing Room Tree – 850 lbs, hand-picked in August, and sparkling with 80 strands of lights. • 17 trees across property. • 89 wreaths—from 14” to 6 feet! • 1,200 feet of White Pine roping draped throughout the Club. • 327 hand-tied bows for that perfect festive touch. • Bird-friendly Fitness Center tree with suet feeders and nesting materials. • Greens recycled after the holidays to protect our plants.

As we pause to give thanks this season, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated team that makes Chevy Chase Club a truly special place. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment shine through every day, and we’re so grateful for our incredible team of professionals. This past week, we celebrated with our first-annual Employee Turkey Trot, where our team enjoyed fresh air, sunshine, and a little movement as they circled our property on our beautiful 2-mile nature trail. Thank you to our amazing staff for all you do, and for making our community so vibrant! Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

We’re thrilled to share that our own Garden and Grounds Manager Michael Gildea, CGM, was elected and installed as the new President of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) at their 2024 Annual Awards Celebration last month. Since joining Chevy Chase Club in 1998, Michael has used his talent, creativity, and dedication to cultivate our remarkable gardens and grounds, making them a defining feature of the Club and offering year-round enjoyment for all. He’s a true advocate for the profession, and we’re grateful for Michael’s inspiring leadership both at the Chevy Chase Club and in the grounds management profession! Michael is a Certified Grounds Manager with the Professional Grounds Management Society and has held multiple leadership roles on the National Board. Yesterday, we were honored to host the National Capital Chapter CMAA for an inspiring afternoon of education and networking. Our guest speaker, Kylie Rae Fitzgibbons, known as the Director of Happiness and Chief Optimism Officer, delivered insights on self-care strategies to foster Service With a Smile. Despite the backdrop of a severe summer storm, our events team seamlessly transformed our networking reception into a serene Italian retreat.
