CJC is a coalition of community-based training organizations, advocacy groups, businesses and individuals working toward ensuring access to employment and career advancement opportunities for people living in poverty. Since 1981, CJC's membership has grown to include over 100 organizations and individuals. Through collaboration, advocacy, applied research, and capacity building, we work with our members to influence the development and reform of public policies and programs designed to move people into the workforce.

Community organizations and leaders have always stepped up in times of crisis—and today is no different. As policies shift and fundamental rights come under threat, leaders need resources to respond. CFW’s Rapid Response Fund is providing short-term, one-time advocacy grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to groups, agencies, and organizations with a valid 501(c)3 designation or which have a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor. I'm excited to share with you an opportunity to apply for a grant from the Together Fund to support our community's work helping young people find pathways to employment. Not only does this opportunity offer grants between $75,000 and $200,000 (depending on the size and capacity of organizations), but there is also support for applicants that do not have extensive experience applying for grant funding. The Together Fund is a community-informed grantmaking effort of We Rise Together: For an Equitable & Just Recovery, which focuses on investing in thriving neighborhood economies for a stronger Chicago. Community members, including myself, designed this request for proposal (RFP) to support programs and organizations addressing challenges young people ages 14 to 24 face in becoming and staying employed.
