During the recent Families Are Stronger Together Learning Collaborative (FAST-LC), the CFPIC Linkages team (Danna Fabella, Andrea Lewis, Melissa Connelly) and partners from California Department of Social Services were able to learn from 9 other states and Tribes who are developing innovative practices to collaborate across Child Welfare and CalWORKs to prevent child maltreatment. We were reminded throughout the collaborative that things work best when communities lead change efforts to build the services they need. We are using this principle to drive outreach and engagement efforts with Tribes, Tribal TANF organizations, counties, and service providers to develop a work plan for a Tribal Linkages approach. We are excited to see what connections we can make and what Tribal Linkages can become!

Last month we gathered over 130 PACT cohort members from across the state to build connections with peers, explore innovations from the field, and hear from survivors with valuable expertise on human trafficking at the annual Preventing & Addressing Child Trafficking convening. Our PACT staff did an incredible job of not only hosting a successful convening, but also pulling together all the conference resources on a helpful webpage that contains a clickable conference program, presentations and handouts from each breakout session, a virtual resource table, photos, and more. There is a ton of great content to take advantage of - have a look! https://lnkd.in/gdfiC2JZ

PACT (Preventing and Addressing Child Trafficking), YEP (Youth Engagement Project) and CRP (Citizen Review Panels) did a great job representing CFPIC at the County Welfare Directors Association of California (CWDA) conference in San Diego! The programs combined their efforts to present “Creating Lasting Change in Child Welfare Through the Leadership and Influence of Those with Lived Experience.” Thank you to Andrea Sobrado, Melissa Gomez, Margo Fudge, and Simone Hidds-Monroe for your hard work in developing this presentation, and to CWDA for the wonderful opportunity.

Linkages is a collaboration between CalWORKs and Child Welfare to serve families who are involved, or at risk of becoming involved, with the Child Welfare System. CFPIC works with county Linkages teams in support of their efforts to develop policies and procedures to make Linkages a reality at the local level. To learn more about Linkages, visit our website. And be sure to check out our latest edition of Keeping Linked, the program's quarterly newsletter. The fall issue contains articles on CFPIC's 20th anniversary, program and subcommittee updates, a county success story about how Linkages was able to help a family in Orange County.
