  • On site sample preparation is in full swing at Chilwa Minerals new ALS certified sample preparation laboratory, the first to be installed in Malawi. Chilwa acquired the lab to expedite the processing of samples from the current sonic and diamond #drilling programs at the Lake Chilwa Project. This then allows for regular transportation of samples to the lab for analysis, with regular dispatches anticipated to significantly improve assay turnaround times. • Chilwa Minerals received initial results from the field assessment of the rare earth element anomalies generated in 2024. Anomalous results have been returned from several of the prospects which indicate the presence of #REE and #Niobium in all 11 targets tested, with up to 10 to 500x background levels, warranting further soil sampling and potential drilling. • In November 2024, Chilwa Minerals commenced ground truthing initially testing 11 targets from a total of 47 #REE targets generated by detailed aeromagnetic and radiometric surveys. 101 surface soil samples were collected and subsequently tested with low-level multi-element Ionic geochemical analysis. The recent results generally demonstrate the effectiveness of the method as anomalies in soil correlate closely with geophysical anomalies with good background to anomaly ratio in most instances. Results indicate the presence of REE and Niobium in all 11 targets tested. Ongoing #exploration rock chip and soil sampling continues, focusing on REE enriched, alkaline-intrusion (carbonatite style targets) to evaluate and prioritize #drilling targets within the remaining 36 priority geophysical targets. • via Grafa Chilwa Minerals announced initial results from the geochemical testing of anomalies at its Chilwa Critical Minerals Project. The project, launched in November 2024, focused on 11 priority targets identified through aeromagnetic and radiometric surveys. One hundred and one surface soil samples were collected and analysed, highlighting the presence of #niobium and #rareearthelements across all tested targets. The findings indicate anomalies ranging from 10 to over 500 times the background levels, suggesting potential mineral system elements within #CHW's tenements. • #ASXNews GEOCHEMICAL TESTING OF ANOMALIES HIGHLIGHT PRESENCE OF NIOBIUM AND RARE EARTH ELEMENTS Chilwa Minerals is pleased to announce initial results from the field assessment of the rare earth element (#REE) anomalies generated in 2024. The first 11 priority targets out of the 47 generated are considered in this announcement. • Ground truthing commenced in November 2024 initially testing 11 targets from a total of 47 rare earth element (REE) targets generated by detailed aeromagnetic and radiometric surveys. One hundred and one (101) surface soil samples were collected and subsequently tested with low-level multi-element Ionic geochemical analysis. • Results received Jan 2025, generally demonstrate the effectiveness of the method as anomalies in soil correlate closely with geophysical anomalies with good background to anomaly ratio in most instances. Results indicate the presence of REE and Niobium in all 11 targets tested. • Key carbonatite ‘mineral system elements’ consistently report 10 to >500 times background levels for this data set and include REEs, along with some targets reporting associated base and precious metals zoning. • The element groups reported are consistent with element signatures reporting over alkaline intrusions elsewhere, including carbonatites. • Ongoing #exploration rock chip and soil sampling continues, focusing on REE enriched, alkaline-intrusion (carbonatite style targets) to evaluate and prioritize drilling targets within the remaining 36 priority geophysical targets. • Chilwa has a twin, parallel strategy for the Chilwa Critical Minerals Project, with dedicated teams focused on both the #mineralsands and rare earth element potential. #CHW Managing Director, Cadell Buss, commented: “This initial batch of REE soil results indicates that the region is fertile for REE mineralisation and supports the results received from the early drilling at Mposa. “We know that the sub-continental mantle source is similar to the one that generated the carbonatite melts at Kangankunde. (Lindian Resources). These results have given us more confidence relating to the REE and Niobium aspect of the asset. "We are pleasantly surprised by the presence of light, medium, and heavy rare earth elements. We will now expedite testing the remaining 36 anomalies. "Following the recent completion of our capital raise and the establishment of mineral specific dedicated teams, we are now positioned to effectively implement our dual strategy for the exploration of mineral sands and rare earths. This will allow us to accelerate the execution of these initiatives." See the full announcement: https://loom.ly/oWFCGD8 #ChilwaMinerals #ASX #MiningNews

  • Last month, Chilwa Minerals' sonic drill program was completed at Mposa, with 821 holes for 7,073 metres completed over an 8km strike. The drilling was completed on a nominal 50m x 50m pattern. This spacing is increased to a 50 m x 100 m in the north and south of the Mposa area in those areas associated with low HM grades and/ or thin HM bearing units associated with low grades and/or high slimes. This is sufficient to provide a high degree of confidence in the planned mineral resource estimate update. On average, the sonic drillholes at Mposa were drilled to 8.5m depth, as compared to the 6.2m achieved in the historic #aircore programs. Sample recoveries for the sonic core #drilling averaged 95%, as compared to 60-70% for the aircore drilling programs. All the samples from the Mposa drilling have been dispatched for analysis, with a further 2-3 batches currently outstanding. There was an unexpected delay in the processing of samples at ALS Perth, with the Company currently working to ensure much better turnaround times in 2025. The sonic and diamond drill rigs have been moved to the Zalewa base camp for scheduled maintenance over the Christmas period. It is currently planned that the sonic drill rigs will resume in early January at the Mpyupyu prospect with diamond drilling for rare earths at a concentrically zoned magnetic anomaly in the Mposa area and east of the Mposa HMS deposit. • Chilwa Minerals is exploring the Lake Chilwa mineral system in southern Malawi. The Lake Chilwa Critical Minerals Project hosts significant #mineralsands mineralisation, with sonic #drilling underway to expand and increase the quality of the existing mineral resources. Since listing, drilling at Mposa has intersected thicker sequences with higher grades, with a high-quality assemblage of value minerals. Rare earth mineralisation has also been identified within the clay profile, with a dedicated team recruited to assess the #REE potential of the Project, which is located in an area of well-known carbonatite-hosted REE mineralisation. • via Grafa Chilwa Minerals has completed its sonic #drilling program at the Mposa prospect within the Chilwa Critical Minerals Project, located in southern Malawi. Highlights from the latest assays include values as high as 2m at 22.8% total #heavyminerals and 4m at 18.6% THM from MPO-SD-581, which includes 2m at 31.1% THM from the surface. Looking ahead to 2025, Chilwa Minerals plans to initiate a mineral resource estimate update and a scoping study for the Central Zone prospects, including Mposa, Mpyupyu, Bimbi, and Namasalima.
