💡 News from the world : Carlo Ratti, Curator of the 2025 @International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, titled "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective" (Venice, May-November 2025), launches a 💠 Circular Economy Manifesto developed with guidance from @arupgroup and input from the @ellenmacarthurfoundation. 📗 The Manifesto calls on Participants in the International Architecture Exhibition and on the Participating Countries to tackle the built environment's core challenges and collaborate to produce a truly circular Exhibition, creating spaces and pavilions that are not just temporary showcases but bold examples of circular design that offer lasting sustainability legacy. 🎯 The goal is to eliminate waste, circulate materials and regenerate natural systems proving that architecture and our built environment can coexist harmoniously with our planet. 📝The Catalan Government launched the Roadmap for the #CircularEconomy in #Catalonia, highlighting its plan for #sustainabledevelopment and our partner MedWaves joined the meeting and brought us all the insights. 👀💬Oriol Amat (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and Isaac Peraire Soler (Waste Agency of Catalonia) opened the event, emphasising collaboration and innovation in addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Several speakers presented during the event, including Mireia Cañellas (Generalitat de Catalunya), Pilar Chiva (ARC), Ana Garcia Molina (Commission for Economy and Sustainability), Jaume Puig i Canal (PIMEC), Josefina Antonijuan (CFIS - UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia)) and Enric Coll (Network of Cities and Towns towards Sustainability). Mireia Boya Busquet, Director General of Climate Change and Environmental Quality at Generalitat de Catalunya closed the event by reaffirming Catalonia’s commitment to the circular economy. 🤔Curious about the plan? ⭕ The II Catalan Circular Congress was organised in Barcelona in June 2024 with two dynamic days of innovation and inspiration. The Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission Community of Practice is launched! It will provide a common space for collective knowledge and learning for the 14 current thematic projects of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, which are concerned with: - Marine Resources - Agri-food systems - Industrial transition - Resource valorisation This Community of Practice currently connects 155 partners from 18 #Mediterranean countries, with a good representation of the 4-ple helix. It includes 53 public authorities, 40 academic and research organisations, 32 private sector stakeholders and 30 partners representing civil society and NGOs. In the coming years, this CoP will be a key element to facilitate the exploitation and re-use of the knowledge developed by the projects, to facilitate the transfer of results to other stakeholders and to facilitate coordination between them, with a view to eventually mainstreaming experiences and results into local, regional, national and European policies.
