  • During the demolition of the pedestrian bridge connected to the former Elder Beerman, dust control procedures will be implemented in all work areas, including demolition and deconstruction sites, debris stockpiles, access and haul roads, and any other relevant locations. Airborne dust will be minimized by sweeping up loose particles and spraying surfaces with water to prevent dust formation. Water will be sourced from an approved local supply, and the use of a hydrant system will be coordinated with the local water provider. Water will be applied to wet down demolition areas and building surfaces, as well as dirt roads, bare ground, and surrounding soil to suppress dust at ground level. A designated laborer will oversee the water spraying and dust suppression efforts during demolition operations. Excessive water use will be avoided to prevent issues such as slipperiness and ponding. Additionally, appropriate erosion control and filtration measures will be in place to prevent sediment from entering the storm drainage system. Please refer to the image below as an example of dust control measures employed during demolition activities. It is important to note that contractors may adopt various methods; therefore, the specific machine depicted may not be the one utilized for water spraying purposes.
