Shoutout to our Utilities team who braved the winter weather to tackle a 12'' main break! From 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m, this crew showed ups what dedication looks like—fixing the flow so we can keep ours. While most of us were bundled up in bed, they were out there in the cold, proving once again that not all heroes wear capes (some wear high visibility jackets and thermal gloves).

New year, new routes, and even more reasons to celebrate with Bloomington Transit! Introducing Route 13—expanding service to new areas, including West Vernal Pike, Park 48, and Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington. This exciting addition bridges previously unserved parts of our Bloomington, making it easier than ever to connect to work, school, and community. Let’s ride into 2025 with progress and accessibility! Special thanks to our friends at The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce for their advocacy and ceremony of this milestone.

Exciting news! The Monroe County Central Emergency Dispatch Center (CEDC) has earned accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), a prestigious honor that recognizes excellence in emergency communication services. With only 140 accredited centers nationwide—and just TWO in Indiana—this designation highlights CEDC’s commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and public safety. CALEA accreditation ensures the Center meets the highest standards, follows best practices, and continuously improves 911 services for our community.

We had the honor of celebrating the incredible individuals who serve on Bloomington's Boards and Commissions at the beautiful John Waldron Arts Center. These volunteers represent the many faces and perspectives that make our city vibrant, compassionate, and forward-thinking. Their dedication and time are the driving force behind the policies and initiatives that shape our present and pave the way for the Bloomington of tomorrow. By bringing their unique experiences and insights to the table, they ensure the solutions we pursue are as diverse and dynamic as our community.
