Last week, IEDC's EVP of Talent and Workforce Tony Denhart and VP of Workforce and talent Kim Brant joined a group of Indiana's top leaders in workforce, education, construction, non-profits and economic development to meet with over 30 Amazon Web Services (AWS) team members. The goal? To spark effective collaboration on workforce and education initiatives for AWS in Indiana. The two days together were all about building new relationships and strengthening existing ones between AWS and Team Indiana. The agenda focused on: 💡 Understanding the current and future talent needs. 🎓 Exploring the workforce development and education landscape in South Bend and across Indiana. 🤝 Sharing best practices to create lasting partnerships for long-term talent development. 📍 Mapping out the key stakeholders involved in this important work. A huge thanks to AWS and everyone involved in making this happen. We're excited about the possibilities ahead! #indiana #economicdevelopment

This week, Secretary of Commerce David Rosenberg, IEDC's VP of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development Natasha Jensen-Matta and VP of Venture Finance Ryan Locke traveled to Plug and Play Tech Center’s November Silicon Valley Summit. Sec. Rosenberg was part of a panel on the intersection of entrepreneurship, venture capital and economic development, sharing how Indiana is leveraging its economic development efforts to support entrepreneurs and attract venture capital. Entrepreneurs and small businesses are a top priority at the IEDC, and we're getting recognized for it. Our 98/100 score on Forbes' latest ranking of best states to start a business landed Indiana as the No. 2 best state to start a business. Indiana is proud to be the home of more than 534,000 small businesses that support more than 1.2 million Hoosier jobs. Our small business team is working every day to build on that number and support entrepreneurs at every step of their journey. #indiana #economicdevelopment #PNPTC #PNPTCSiliconValley

Today, we joined Inside INdiana Business and IBJ Media for the latest Engage Indiana event in Ft. Wayne. IEDC Chief Strategy Officer Ann Lathrop and our Chief Marketing Officer Salena Scardina sat down with IBJ Media's Nathan Feltman for a discussion covering everything from our record-breaking committed capital investment to READI's success and launching the new "Indiana For the Bold" brand. Here in northeast Indiana, you can see READI's effect on the region. You see it at Fort Wayne International Airport and The Lofts at Headwaters. READI is improving quality of life here and throughout the state. We also heard from an outstanding panel about how this region is collaborating and overcoming obstacles to keep growing and improving. We're eager to keep Indiana's historic momentum rolling. We'll continue driving new investment in Indiana communities, entrepreneurship, critical business sectors. We'll keep showing Hoosiers and everyone around the world that Indiana is where you can be bold and find success. #indiana #economicdevelopment #fortwayne #fortwayneindiana Fort Wayne - Allen County Airport Authority Greater Fort Wayne Inc.
