We are happy to share Virginia Tech's new Upper Quad Residence Hall! Designed to support the growth of the Corps of Cadets to 1,400 students, this stunning Collegiate Gothic building offers 302 cadet beds and a host of modern amenities. The exteriors feature iconic Hokie stone with precast concrete accents and heraldry elements that celebrate the rich history of the Corps and the University. Inside, traditional dormitory-style rooms with double and triple occupancy are complemented by a variety of common spaces like floor lounges, a group kitchen, and a mud room. The design focuses on creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, with light hues inspired by cadet uniforms and engaging color accents in public spaces. This week, we celebrated the raising of the final steel beam of Colin G. and Nancy N. Campbell Archaeology Center in Williamsburg, VA, with a topping-out ceremony. Marking the completion of the main framework, we were happy to commemorate this milestone by signing the beam and watching its installation. When completed, this center will provide visitors with the unique opportunity to observe and engage with archeologists as they work in state-of-the-art laboratories. A special thank you to Atlas Steel Erectors, who assembled the framework, placed the final beam, and brought us a step closer to this one-of-a-kind facility coming to life. #archaeology #archaeologycenter #williamsburgva #toppingoutceremony
