Reflecting on a Year of Climate Action and Impact 🌱 As 2024 comes to a close, we at Climate Asia are proud to highlight the incredible efforts of our grassroots organizations that joined our climate adaptation initiative. Through immersive field visits, we gained deep insights into their impactful projects and initiatives. By working closely with these organizations, we supported their journey toward creating meaningful change in their communities. Here’s a look at their remarkable work: 🌿Badlao Foundation: Transformed 300 acres of barren land into productive agricultural land, improving cropping intensity and increasing the annual income of 300 tribal families by 20-25%. 🌿Seba Jagat: Partnered with the Adivasi community to build the Ladugaon Dam, which now provides irrigation, drinking water, and sustains biodiversity in flood-affected regions. 🌿SEWAK: Revitalized the Kurla Dungri Hill into a lush forest through women-led initiatives like organic farming, vermicompost, and sustainable agriculture. 🌿Samagra Sikchhan Evam Vikas Sansthan (SSEVS): Reduced unsafe migration through the SLIDE initiative, empowering Dalit communities to shift from laborers to agricultural producers. 🌿ADITHI: Strengthened sustainable farming practices and enabled communities to interact with governance processes and assert their rights. 🌿SAMVAD: Protected the land rights of PVTG (Pahariya tribe) families, helping them secure their homes and community resources through proactive Gram Sabha efforts. 🌿Women Organisation for Rural Development (WORD): Supported women in managing natural resources, reducing child marriages, improving maternal health, and enhancing community livelihoods. 🌿Lahanti: Helped Santhali women gain better access to ration services, pensions, and government schemes, boosting self-governance. 🌿GPSVS: Built disaster preparedness through food preservation and traditional medicinal practices, ensuring communities are self-reliant during tough times. These organizations have shown the power of grassroots efforts in driving climate adaptation and community resilience. Together, we’re making strides toward a sustainable and inclusive future! 🌟 #ClimateAdaptation #Grassroots #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityEmpowerment
