🌍 As COP29 in Baku draws to an end, Cloverly breaks down some of this year's biggest developments for carbon markets. Arguably, the most notable development for the carbon markets was the Parties reaching a consensus on two standards developed by the Supervisory Body for Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement, covering: 1️⃣ Requirements for removal activities under A6.4 2️⃣ Requirements for the development and assessment of A6.4 methodologies This milestone marks the first step towards the centralized system, outlining guidelines for approval of specific methodologies that will be able to issue credits under Article 6.4. While this represents significant progress, the journey isn't complete - the next phase focuses on building the digital infrastructure and registry systems needed to track and trade these credits seamlessly.
