The original American house of leather since 1941.

About us

Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop. In a Manhattan loft, six artisans handcrafted a collection of leather goods using skills handed down from generation to generation. Discerning consumers soon began to seek out the quality and unique nature of Coach craftsmanship. Now greatly expanded, Coach is a modern American luxury brand with a rich heritage of craftsmanship and New York style. We continue to maintain the highest standards for materials and workmanship. Coach's exceptional workforce remains committed to carefully upholding the principles of quality and integrity that define the company. We attribute the prominence of the Coach brand to the unique combination of our original American attitude and design, our heritage of fine leather goods and custom fabrics, our superior product quality and durability, and our commitment to customer service.

We’re excited to announce that our Creative Director, Stuart Vevers, has been appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for Services to Fashion and UK/US Creative Relations. He was included in the Birthday 2024 Honours List, approved by His Majesty King Charles the Third. Born in Yorkshire and raised in the North of England, Stuart studied Fashion Design at London’s University of Westminster and went on to work for a number of fashion brands before joining Coach in 2013. Here, he’s introduced ready-to-wear collections, collaborated with cultural icons, and championed sustainability and circularity in fashion, to name a few of his many achievements. This is a prestigious honor that reflects Stuart's exceptional talent, vision and leadership. We are incredibly proud of him and grateful for his contributions to our brand and the fashion industry at large. Congratulations, Stuart! #CoachNY

For the second year in a row, we’re honored to team up with nonprofit partner Soles4Souls to show our gratitude for teachers across the country. 📓🍎 Inspired by the Coach Foundation’s Dream It Real mission, which aims to create opportunities and remove barriers for the next generation of young people who have the courage to dream it real, who better to recognize than the teachers who have the courage to help students make their dreams possible? So we jumped at the chance last month to surprise 1,500 educators at low-income schools with Coach pop-up shops during Teacher’s Appreciation Week. Over 160 Coach store team members volunteered at local events in Miami (FL), Chicago (IL), New York (NY), and San Jose (CA) to help teachers ‘shop’ a variety of Coach handbags and accessories to take home – at no cost to them. Thank you to all our Coach volunteers for helping to spread joy to these very deserving educators, and thank you to all the teachers out there for your unrelenting commitment to the next generation! #DreamItReal #CoachNY Check out scenes from the recent New York (Bronx) Teacher Appreciation event in this short video:

This week, we celebrated Dream Day 2024 - the Coach Foundation's annual signature conference - in partnership with Coachtopia, Coach’s sub-brand that is pioneering circularity in fashion. Over 200 young people from the Foundation’s scholarship program and Coachtopia community joined us at our NYC headquarters for a day of talks, workshops and connection led by Gen Z activists, changemakers and creatives. 💭 This year's theme, Dreaming Tomorrow, celebrates the next generation's determination to dream big while breaking down barriers in their communities, build the courage to create a better future for themselves and the planet, and find confidence in the workplace while maintaining their values. 🌱 A special part of this year’s Dream Day: the announcement of the Coach Foundation's newest scholarship program: The Dream It Real x Coachtopia Scholars Program, created in collaboration with Millennium Campus Network (MCN), to support the next generation of sustainable leaders around the world. The all-day conference included panels with activists Wawa GatheruMaya Penn and more! 🎉 We wrapped with a networking afterparty for our students with Coach employees and the other attendees. Thank you to all the teams who helped make Dream Day 2024 a success! #DreamItReal

Did you know that at the Coach corporate headquarters in NYC, we have an archive housing a model of nearly every handbag we’ve created since our founding in 1941? The repository is not only a visual evolution of handbag development over the years, but a source of inspiration for our design team, who look through shelves of historical silhouettes to create contemporary designs. Ryan Bollwerk, archivist for Coach, shared with Fortune that, “[…] we are the only ones who have this at scale in North America.” Learn more – and get inspired – via the full article at fortune.comhttps://lnkd.in/eCKyi6ai

We are proud to announce that Coachtopia, our circular sub-brand, has been recognized on Fast Company’s 2024 World Changing Ideas list!  Fast Company’s annual list honors brands and organizations that are driving change in meaningful ways. A worthy recipient, Coachtopia is working to create a more circular future for fashion by reimagining waste as an inspiring raw material and designing products to live multiple lives—all with the collaboration of next-generation designers, thinkers and makers.  Congratulations to the entire Coachtopia team and Joon Silverstein for this incredible achievement.  #CoachNY #FCWorldChangingIdeas

Last night, Coach attended the 2024 Met Gala alongside Actor, Storm Reid – who showcased a custom Coach look designed by our Creative Director, Stuart Vevers. ✨ The dress was handcrafted at the Coach workshop in New York City and was inspired by Vevers’ vision for Coach of heritage reimagined through the lens of today’s generation. The look juxtaposes American romance with youthful, counter-culture attitude, interpreting the Met’s “Garden in Time” theme. The designs incorporate references to American fashion past and present, florals, as well as love worn and re-loved materials.    “The look we envisioned for Storm is inspired by the way today’s generation is rewriting the story of American fashion in their own way. Our starting point was our Fall runway, where we explored vintage party dresses and playfully subverted them. We added youthful twists whilst preserving the feeling of romance that captures the spirit of the Met and this year’s theme,” said Stuart Vevers, Creative Director.
