👋 Say hello to this month’s spotlight, Matthew Sanchez, Product Support Analyst. Matt is based in San Francisco and joined our customer success renewals team in 2022, became a team lead, and then transitioned to the product team in early 2024. 🚗 Before joining Coalition, Matt sold cars with Mercedes Benz but always knew he wanted to build products — even though he’d never done it before. He heard some buzz about Coalition and knew there was room for career growth, so he joined the renewals side of our customer success team. 🏗️ To achieve his goal of building products, Matt focused on driving efficiencies within the renewals team and worked to improve common pain points. He took the initiative to create internal documents with answers to recurring issues or bugs the team noticed to ensure the same answers were always provided to our brokers. He credits landing his role on the product team to understanding user needs internally and externally and taking the initiative to make improvements both technically and operationally. 🏡 Matt’s favorite part of our remote-first culture is that it has allowed him to move to multiple places over the past few years. He started in Provo, UT, spent time in Spokane, WA, and recently moved to San Francisco. 👥 Authenticity is the Coalition value Matt aligns with the most. He reflected on his time working in our Provo office on the Customer Success team, “We were the group of misfit toys. We were a group of really diverse people with night and day differences, but no one was afraid to be themselves. We were really close, made so many improvements, and got things done.” 🍲 When he’s not busy fixing our products, Matt’s passionate about cooking, eating, and studying the history of great food.
