North Texas Giving Day’s record-breaking giving was featured on NBC DFW’s "Something Good" this week. Together, we raised $70 million for local nonprofits in September, and that's #SomethingGood. You can give to any of 3,000+ organizations year-round at NorthTexasGivingDay.org. To encourage holiday giving, we're covering all transaction fees for gifts made through December 31! Watch the NBC DFW spotlight below.

About us
Communities Foundation of Texas has been a partner with donors for raising the quality of life in our community for more than 60 years. CFT provides effective ways to make meaningful charitable contributions while realizing significant tax advantages. CFT handles the investment of the gift, listens to the donor's priorities and manages charitable grants to worthwhile causes. The value of a gift can be granted out completely in a short period of time or it can be nurtured to provide a long legacy of charitable support. The foundation's experience in the nonprofit community and with donors results in a unique relationship with powerful benefits. A community foundation, as the name implies, is a public charity created as a vehicle for charitable giving. The defining characteristic of a community foundation is that it represents the donors' charitable interests and adds value through its wealth of community knowledge, along with the leadership of its board of trustees and the services of a professional staff.

Champions of Caring: For fifth-generation Texan sisters Averille Dawson, Fallon Vaughn, and Kathryn Cook, the Jane and Bill Browning Family Fund, a donor-advised fund at CFT, is a living legacy of their parents’ compassion and commitment to helping others. “Our mom wanted us to continue to experience the joy of coming together as a family to give back,” said Averille. Recently, we shared with the sisters a pressing need that was aligned with one of their funding priorities. Mazie's Mission, a local nonprofit veterinary clinic that provides lifesaving care to abused and neglected animals, faced an unexpected funding gap, and the Browning sisters stepped up to help. Congratulations to CFT fundholders Shannah Hayley, CPM and Kelly Hayley for finishing their 50th marathon in 50 states! The Plano couple has run over 170 marathons and half marathons, and about 5 years ago, set a goal to run in all 50 states before their 55th birthdays. They also lead their own running club, Interval Run Club Dallas. We're inspired by their passion for running and community. We're grateful to be their partner as they show their generosity and care for nonprofits through their donor-advised fund at CFT. CFT Board Trustee and expert financial advisor Debra Brennan Tagg, CFP® has been featured in Advisorpedia's "How Advisors Can Help Families Pass Down Values Alongside Wealth." From the article: “For clients that want a philanthropic advisor, Tagg works with Communities Foundation of Texas. A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a common charitable giving vehicle. 'For clients without a clear philanthropic mission who are looking to make charitable donations but are in a year-end time crunch, we encourage them to contribute to a DAF so they can secure the tax deduction now but be intentional about where the money goes in 2025. DAFs also provide a learning experience for future generations – helping them to understand that designating funds to give away can be as important in some families as accumulating funds for education, retirement, or other purposes,' explains Tagg." Join us in celebrating the impact of our chief information officer, Roger Santone who is retiring at the end of December after a 40+ year career in technology. We're grateful for all you've done for our community and for CFT, Roger Santone and wish you all the best in your next chapter! #CFTeam Katherine (Katie) Wetta Octavio Morales Arturo D'Brot Charles Sharif
After 42 years in Technology, I have made the decision to retire at the end of this year. I have been extremely fortunate to have been part of some of the best companies in the world, traveled to 32 countries, and worked with thousands of amazing people. I am extremely grateful to the leaders who mentored me and gave me a chance to make a difference and I am equally grateful to those that allowed me to lead them. I also want to thank the many co-workers that became good friends over the years not only here in North America, but also in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC. There are so many people that I wanted to thank personally, but the list became too long. You know who you are and I will always be grateful to you.
