A new fire — the Hughes fire — has developed north of Los Angeles County and brings even more turmoil for Californians impacted by wildfires over the past month. Two weeks ago, Riverside resident Aurelli's husband was in Pasadena for work. The same area is now a wasteland charred by fast-spreading fires. “He couldn’t believe it was all gone now,” she said. This is the story for many in and around Los Angeles, where firefighters are working around the clock to contain several wildfires. The fires have burned more than 60 square miles, demolishing 12,000 structures and taking at least 25 lives.
