Two weeks ago, Riverside resident Aurelli's husband was in Pasadena for work. The same area is now a wasteland charred by fast-spreading fires. “He couldn’t believe it was all gone now,” she said. This is the story for many in and around Los Angeles, where firefighters are working around the clock to contain several wildfires. The fires have burned more than 60 square miles, demolishing 12,000 structures and taking at least 25 lives. Convoy of Hope is still on the ground working with local partners to distribute essential supplies and bring comfort and a sense of normalcy in the midst of this heavy situation. A driving passion to feed the world
About us
Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches and disaster response. As a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization strategically based in Springfield, Missouri — the crossroads of America — our goal is to bring help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting. Convoy of Hope was founded in 1994 by the Donaldson family. Their inspiration for starting the organization can be traced back to the many people who helped their family after their father, Harold, was killed by a drunk driver in 1969. Today, more than 70 million people have been served throughout the world by Convoy of Hope. We are proud that we work through churches, businesses, government agencies and other nonprofits to provide help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting.

The return of high winds in Los Angeles is making wildfire containment efforts harder — gusts spread fire quickly and keep planes and helicopters from responding. Convoy of Hope team members are on the ground in the area. This weekend, we partnered with a local church to deliver water, food, and hygiene supplies to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to assist first responders who have been working tirelessly since the fires began. Convoy will deliver additional loads of relief supplies in the area throughout the week and determine how to best support communities impacted. The greater Los Angeles area continues to grapple with the destructive wildfires, leaving thousands displaced and uncertain about what lies ahead. In that uncertainty, Convoy is committed to equipping local partners and communities with essential supplies they need, such as clean water, food, hygiene items, and more. One such place, the Los Angeles Center for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (LACADA), who had to evacuate its 64 patients, has received water, food, hygiene items, socks, and more at their temporary facility. More deliveries are scheduled to arrive this week across the state. On the ground in Los Angeles: Convoy of Hope has already distributed over 100,000 pounds of relief supplies and served more than 5,400 people. And we're just getting started. In places like Pasadena, the smell of char and smoke permeates the air. Here in front of the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center, only chimneys, filing cabinets, littered paper, and ashes remain. Rich and his son Rad, center, lost their home. Rich had lived there for 30 years and wanted to leave his home for his kids. "All I left them was homeless," he said. "You know what that does to a person?" As the fires blaze and more people lose everything, Convoy will be there to provide help and hope to communities in need.
