  • This year, we’re launching a new Powering Growth Series featuring high-profile developments that CoServ will power with reliable electricity and natural gas. We’re kicking it off in Allen with a mixed-use project being developed by Trammell Crow at the southeast corner of the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Custer Road. “This dynamic project is exciting for the city of Allen, the thousands of people who will shop and work there and the new Members who will call it home,” said Ben Crawford, CoServ’s Director of Business Developments and Acquisitions. • At CoServ, our Employees can donate to the CoServ Charitable Foundation via payroll deductions. These specific donations go to the Unrestricted Fund, which means it’s earmarked to help nonprofits outside of our service territory. Last month, we saw those donations in action at The Wilkinson Center in Dallas, where a check for $25,000 was presented to the nonprofit. What an evening! CoServ Employees and their families celebrated the holiday season at our annual Winter Wonderland event, which was themed around Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The event, which included a tree-decorating competition, snacks and treats, photos with Santa, and a toy drive benefiting the Children’s Advocacy Center of North Texas, was made possible through months of planning by our incredible Human Resources team! As we reflect on this holiday season, we are reminded how fortunate we are at CoServ to have the best of the best! #HappyHolidays #EmployeeEvent

Educating the next generation is the key to a safer future! Recently our Energy Education team stopped by Justin Elementary to present POWERrace® to a group of fourth and fifth graders. POWERrace is a giant tabletop board game that teaches students how electric infrastructure is built and what it takes to power a community. It’s all about creating a hands-on, engaging experience that leaves a lasting impact. #FutureLeaders #Education #Community

All new CoServ Employees go through a full-day class called CoServ Experience. Although, we offer a multitude of courses and experiences for new hires, this class is a high-level overview of our various departments, what they do and how we all work together. Employees also get a tour of different facilities, see a pole-top rescue and meet the executive team. Being a new hire can be overwhelming – new faces, new processes and a new building to get used to. The CoServ Experience is a great way to immerse new Employees in the culture and help deepen their understanding of how every department contributes to serving our Members, Customers and each other. #NewEmployees #CoServExperience #NewHire

Our positive culture and work environment don’t happen by accident – our Human Resources Department carefully cultivates it. “We’re always looking at how we can make things better for our Employees and make them feel at home,” said Libby James, Senior Vice President of Corporate Services. “Having a company that’s so supportive of the HR function in general and understanding the value of each individual Employee here.” Through the work of HR, Employees know they are part of something bigger than themselves that centers on serving our Members and Customers. Recently, our Energy Education Team stopped by Sandbrock Ranch Elementary in Aubrey for an Indy Car STEM Station demonstration. Students used variables to code the direction of an Indy Car on a color-coded “track.” This activity reinforces the school curriculum with critical thinking and basic beginner programming. This unique experience is one of many that we offer as part of our Academic Initiatives program! Investing in our local schools is a great way to support our teachers as well as the young minds in our community.
