We're growing! This month's Veteran and First Responder Meetup was a great time at Estuary Beans and Barley . It's always special meeting and spending time with like minded servant-leaders in Charleston. The next one is scheduled for 19SEP at 6pm EST. If you're interested in meeting people and learning about ways to give back in the lowcountry, we'd love to see you out there!
To our Charleston crew! See you at Estuary Beans and Barley tonight!
Veterans & First Responders in Charleston! Come out to Estuary Beans and Barley on Johns Island tonight for trivia and some good food. We're building a great community of servant leaders. Don't miss out if you're free - we'd love to meet you! Courser Racing
It wasn’t all sunshine and smiles but a great training weekend in Charleston! The Courser Community is growing quickly in the Lowcountry and we’re excited to announce some new events and partnerships here in the near future. 10 months out from our first ocean crossing! Interested in supporting our mission to support military veterans by getting them out on the water? Check out our website at www.courserracing.com where you can find our “donate” link.
Huge shout out to Craig Westbrook for hosting the Courser Racing team in Charleston this weekend. We can’t thank you enough for your support and are stoked to see you on the water again soon. My dude makes a mean cappuccino!

Courser Racing chose Ocean Rowing as a vehicle for transition support because it is relatively low cost (the ocean is free) and it mirrors the rigors of service required of Special Operations Veterans, Law Enforcement, and Firefighter/ EMS personnel. Like warfare, law enforcement, disaster response, and emergency medical services, Ocean Rowing requires physicality, mental acuity, emotional resilience, risk mitigation/ contingency planning, systems implementation, technological prowess, and inventory management. Courser Racing provides support to these communities through a team-based robust maritime training regimen (simulating the rigor of a deployment cycle or emergency response preparation), by leveraging a professional business mentor network for job placement and providing business experience through organic non-profit activities including fundraising, P+L management, recruiting, marketing, donor relations, and sponsorship contract negotiations. The Courser Racing Methodology supports those transitioning to the civilian workforce in 6-12 month "cohorts". Each Cohort is subdivided into four-man teams based on past experiences, aptitude, geographic location, professional aspirations, and interpersonal qualities. Once Teams are assigned, each team is given training plans, objectives, training dates, and assigned a set of mentors for transition support. Upon the culmination of the training iterations in Charleston, SC, the Teams complete their "Expeditions" launching on Courser Racing's Rannoch R45 from Charleston, SC or Pensacola, FL to a (reasonable) destination of their choice. Funds raised by the Teams will be donated to a charity of their choosing with a portion of funds set aside to ensure Courser Racing has operating capital to ensure assets and travel are secured.
